The government will, however, provide vaccine free of cost to all in the state. The decision was taken during a Cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray video video-conferencing on Wednesday. Today, the cabinet under the leadership of CM Uddhav Thackeray has decided to provide free #COVID19 vaccination to all the citizens of Maharashtra aged between 18-44 years, the CMO said. Tope said the state will get 10 lakh doses each in April and May. Post-May, the manufacturer will provide 20 lakh doses of Covaxin to the state every month. The Serum Institute of India, he said, has assured to provide one crore doses of Covishield to the state every month, he added.

State Health Minister Rajesh Tope on Wednesday dropped ample hints that restrictions will likely be extended in the state. He, however, said that a final decision will be taken on the last day of restrictions that are currently in force. Earlier on April 21, the Maharashtra government had imposed more strict restrictions in the state under the Break the Chain campaign till May 1 morning. All members of the Maharastra Cabinet are of the opinion that current COVID19 restrictions should be extended for the next 15 days, Tope said.

URL copied Now, Maharashtra allows buying of food, essentials for only 4 hours daily The Maharashtra government on Tuesday announced that all essential buying of food items shall be permitted for only four hours daily till May 1 in order to break the chain of coronavirus. The new restriction will come into effect from 8 pm today (April 20) and remain effective till 7 am on May 1. The order was issued by the Disaster Management and Relief and Rehabilitation department.   All grocery, vegetable shops, fruit vendors, dairies, bakeries, confectioneries, all types of food shops including chicken, mutton, poultry, fish and eggs, shops related to agricultural implements and farm produce, pet food shops, shops related to materials for impending rainy season will remain open from 7 am to 11 am, said the order.
