There are now 11,470 active cases in Maharashtra
Maharashtra government on Sunday extended the Covid-19 guidelines till March 31 following a steep rise in confirmed cases in parts of the state. The city of Mumbai on February 28 reported 1,051 fresh cases along with five more Covid-related deaths.
There are now 11,470 active cases in Maharashtra, according to the state government s Health Department.
Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat accounted for 83.37 per cent fresh Covid-19 cases reported from across the country on Sunday, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).
Maharashtra Covid Lockdown: State government has extended lockdown restrictions till Jan 31, 2021.
Mumbai:
The Maharashtra government has extended till January 31, 2021 the lockdown restrictions in the state on account of COVID-19.
A circular to this effect was issued on December 29. The state is threatened with the spread of COVID-19 virus. Therefore, to take certain emergency measures to prevent and contain the spread of the virus, the lockdown in the state has been extended till January 31, the circular stated.
The activities already allowed and permitted from time to time shall be continue, it added.
Over the past few months, the government has eased several lockdown restrictions.
