The Samruddhi Mahamarg, named Hindu Hrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg, is a 701-km-long expressway connecting Mumbai and Nagpur.
"However, because the driver applied the brakes suddenly, he sustained minor injuries on the legs and some bruises. All passengers then deboarded the bus. The fire brigade team cut and removed the old branch that had fallen on the bus and cleared the road for traffic," the fire officer added.
Six people were killed and 20 injured in a major road accident in Maharashtra's Buldhana late last night. According to the police, two buses collided head-on at around 2.30 am on NH 53 at Nandur Naka flyover in Malkapur.
