Following in the footsteps of central and international boards, the Maharashtra government announced the cancellation of its class X examination on Tuesday.

All students will be promoted to class XI.
Class XII examination will be held once the Covid situation gets improved.

MUMBAI: Amid the rising Covid cases in the state, Maharashtra government has decided to cancel class X board examination. The decision has been taken in the state cabinet meeting on Tuesday chaired by chief minister Uddhav Thackeray.
Public health minister Rajesh Tope after the cabinet meeting said that class X exams will not be held instead all students will be promoted to class XI. However, the decision whether to conduct assessment will be taken by the school education department.

CBSE, CISCE, Board Exams 2021: In view of worsening Covid-19 situations in the country, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and several state boards have either cancelled or postponed their classes 10, 12 exams. The CBSE has cancelled the class 10 exam, and postponed the 12th exams till May 30. The revised exam schedule will be announced on June 1.Â
Apart from CBSE, states like Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Tamil Nadu have either cancelled or postponed their exams.Â

CBSE: The Central Board of Secondary Education will not conduct the class 10 exam this year, and the students will be promoted on the basis of an internal assessment. Meanwhile, the class 12 exams has been postponed till May 30, the revised exam schedule will be announced on June 1.Â

COVID-19 cases in the state.
The board exams of Class 12 were to begin from April 23 and of Class 10 from April 30. Given the current COVID-19 situation in Maharashtra, we ve postponed state board exams for class 10th & 12th. The present circumstances are not conducive for holding exams. Your health is our priority, state School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad tweeted.

Amid the alarming rise of coronavirus cases in the state, students and parents had been demanding that exams be cancelled or held online for this academic year, keeping in mind the risk of students getting infected. Given the current COVID-19 situation in Maharashtra, we’ve postponed state board exams for Class 10 and 12. The present circumstances are not conducive for holding exams. Maharashtra HSC, SSC Exams 2021 has been postponed to May and June respectively. The revised Maharashtra HSC, SSC Exams 2021 dates will be announced accordingly. Varsha Gaikwad confirms the same.
