I have not been studiously following the Mahama 2020 Presidential-Election Petition for two important reasons. One, because I sincerely believe that this copycat petition was primarily launched purely for the spectacle that it provides and then to unnecessarily distract public attention from the progressive policy initiatives and the generally impressive national development agenda of the Akufo-Addo-led government of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). And two, because I have been much too busy attending to the duties and requirements of the job that provides me and my family our livelihood. But, of course, the general business of the State and the fate and development of my parents-land, as it were, are much too important for me to think of completely disengaging from the same. So, I have been fairly regularly gleaning from media reports and commentaries on the major happenings in the country.
Rulings in the judicial system are almost invariably based on precedent; so, it was patently absurd for anybody, legal maven or laity, to have expected the Chief Justice Kwasi Anin-Yeboah-presided Supreme Court of Ghana (SCOG) to have granted the exact same request of the Jean Adukwei Mensa-headed Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) that the Chief Justice Georgina Theodora Wood-presided SCOG flatly refused or roundly rejected in the Akufo-Addo-led 2012 Presidential-Election Petition (See

He says that if the disgruntled members, supporters and sympathizers of his boss, namely, former President John “Akonfem-Kanazoe” Dramani Mahama, are not immediately placated, by having the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) make believe that, in fact, it was Little Dramani who won the 2020 Presidential Election, and not the incumbent President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, then the unmistakably criminally staged arsonist protests by National Democratic Congress’ members, supporters and sympathizers are certain to spiral out of control (See “NDC Protests May Get Out of Control – Asiedu-Nketia” 12/22/20).
