The residents expressed their gratitude for the efforts made by the Chairman of Mahadevapura Task Force for Environment and the president of Force GW, Lingaraj Urs and Panchayat officials to rejuvenate the lake. Doddabanahalli Panchayat president Anil Kumar M stated that the lake was full of weeds and garbage, with few birds visiting, making it unsafe for residents. “I am very happy with the rejuvenation of the lake,” said Anil Kumar.
Water lettuce, a floating aquatic plant, had taken over the lake, affecting its health and causing harm to aquatic life. Recognising the severity of the issue, the Mahadevapura Task Force (MTF) for the Environment and the Kannamangala Panchayat teamed up to find a solution.
Bengaluru East Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer Vasanth Kumar said, “The construction of the animal waste processing plant is in progress. I expect the construction work to be completed in two months and plant.”
