As school comes back in session next week, El Dorado s commuters have reason to rejoice - new parent pick-up lanes at Northwest Elementary School, Washington Middle School and Hugh Goodwin Elementary School are set to cut down on after school traffic on College Avenue, Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, and 5th Street respectively.
A petition to remove the gate located on Magnolia Drive separating the Bell Ayre development from the rest of the neighborhood has gained traction with over 100 signees.
El Dorado School District Superintendent Jim Tucker led a public informational meeting in the El Dorado High School cafeteria Sunday afternoon to attempt to sell the public on the district s ongoing ballot proposal. The proposal will, if passed, increase millage by 5 mills, which would bring the district s millage rate to 38.5 mills.
A permanent, metal, locked, gate has been installed on Magnolia Drive in-between Belle Ayre Drive and Crossgate drive. The gate fully blocks traffic going through.
