2021 Cupra Formentor VZ5 has been revealed overnight for left-hand-drive European markets.
Developed by Volkswagen-owned, Spanish performance brand Cupra, 7000 examples of the limited-edition version of its Formentor performance SUV will be built for European markets – all employing
Audi-sourced turbocharged five-cylinder power under the bonnet.

2.5-litre five-pot hails from Audi s RS3 and RS Q3 compact performance cars, though a unique tune sees outputs rated at
287kW of power and
480Nm of torque.
That s 7kW down over the Audi twins – a move likely to prevent the cheaper Cupra cannibalising sales of the four-ring brand s RS products – but a significant 59kW and 80Nm up over the previous most powerful Formentor variant on offer, powered by a 228kW/400Nm 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder shared with the Audi S3.
