The Limbe Magistrate Court has on Wednesday adjourned to Friday, May 28 the ruling on whether or not a Dutch national alleged to have molested Malawian girls and boys has got a case to answer.
The development follows the crushing of the computer which contained a ruling belonging to Magistrate Tsoka Banda who is presiding over the case.
State lawyer, Victor Jere, confirmed the development to the media saying the ruling has, therefore, been shifted from today to Friday owing to the crush.

The Limbe First Grade Magistrate Court has set May 21, 2021 as the day it will decide whether police officer Andrew Chagaga has a case to answer for allegedly defiling a 17 year old Polytechnic student while in Custody.
According to Eunice Ndingo lawyer for the victim, Magistrate Tsoka Banda who is presiding over the case is expected to deliver his ruling at 10 o’clock morning on the stated date.
The state managed to bring 8 wittiness during previous hearings.
Magistrate Tsoka Banda told the lawyers representing both parties to submit their applications by 11 March 2021 before delivering the judgment.

A court in Limbe has refused to move a case of a police officer implicated in raping a 17-year-old girl at a police station, to Blahtyre magistrates court.
The Limbe Magistrate Court has dismissed the application by the State to move a case against Andrew Chigaga, the police officer alleged to have defiled the girl saying the state did not give convincing reasons.
On January 27, 2020, the state asked the court to move the case to the Blantyre Magistrate Court where the suspect can get a stiffer punishment when convicted.
However, Magistrate Tsoka Banda, who is hearing the case, dismissed the application saying the State did not give valid reasons to convince the court to move the case to another court.

The State prosecutors have asked the Limbe magistrates court to transfer to a higher court a case in which a police officer is accused of defiling a 17-year-old girl in police cell.

The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) asked the court to transfer the case against the police officer, Andrew Chagaga to Blantyre Chief Resident Magistrate Court.
The court was on Wednesday expected to start hearing the case.
However, Chikondi Chijozi, one of the lawyers representing the office of the DPP, asked the court to transfer the case to Blantyre Chief Resident Magistrate where the suspect can be given a stiffer sentence when convicted.
