While the district must choose the vendor based on the lowest responsible bidder, the results of the milk tasting will serve as feedback before a final decision, according to district spokeswoman Maggie White.
The brands that had higher than 60% approval aka smiley faces will go to the school board to be considered for winning the bid, White said.

After more than a year away, some students returned to campuses in the Santa Maria Valley on Tuesday for limited in-person learning.
For the Santa Maria Joint Union High School District, one group of members from the class of 2021 went back while the other seniors are set to attend their first day Wednesday.
