Rob Flett will be walking a 5km route with his sons Jamie and Euan to remember his wife and Euan and Jamie’s mum Moira. A WIRRAL-based cancer charity is encouraging people to take part in a special fundraising walk. Maggie s Merseyside - at Clatterbridge Cancer Centre - wants you to walk 5k (3.1 miles) on either June 12 or 13 – in celebration, reflection, or love to help people with cancer. Kathy Wright, centre head of Maggie s Merseyside, said: Maggie’s teams across the country have been there for people with cancer and their families during the most difficult of times. We ve created Together We Walk as a way of bringing people together to celebrate and reflect.
Alice Jones took on the running challenge to raise cash for Maggie’s Merseyside. Throughout the month of January Alice ran more than 50 miles and raised an outstanding £1,768. She said: “In October 2018, my Mum was diagnosed with bowel and colon cancer. As a family, we felt like our world was falling apart. When I saw the Maggie’s 50 Mile Challenge come up on my Facebook, I didn’t even have to think twice about signing up for it. I knew I wanted to do something for Maggie’s in return for all that they have done for my Mum and many others in this position.
