clearly most of the candidates have disagreed with his assertions with regard to our border. and certainly i disagree maev, has the gop figured out how to respond to him yet? we have seen response across the spectrum. jeb bush, who trump has attacked personally over and over again came out and talked about how you know, how wrong his comments were and how he was personally insulted by them. then you have others who have been quieter. obviously lindsey graham has been talking about what the trump effect will be on the way republicans are viewed in the immigration debate. this is giving them a chance to differentiate themselves from one another how they respond to trump. what we should be watching for is some of them may be holding their powder a little bit waiting for the first debate which will most likely be on stage with trump and will be in
to that. most of the time with trump i don t have any idea what the context is, what he is talking about. i can t help you with that one. mackay, do you want to the try? i m surprised that maev doesn t want to weigh in on donald trump s exfir friends. there is something about donald trump i profiled him last year and spent time with him. he definitely has something about him, anyone who distances themselves from him, rejects him, distances him, it automatically becomes a loser, jealous, pathetic. and so, you know, no matter what he thought of them before. that is certainly part of this. i think that s why when he gives speeches and gives interviews he is constantly personally attacking the other candidates by name. because if they say anything about him, he will go to war with them. that s also what makes him entertaining for the political media, for television. okay. but it s not necessarily a recipe to build good will within the conservative movement and
