Two schools in Badulla and Balangoda that desperately needed additional classroom space have each received a purpose-built classroom thanks to the generosity of Ceylinco Life. The two classrooms are the 86th and 87th donated by Sri Lanka’s life insurance market leader to schools in need in Sri Lanka under a long-running corporate social responsibility initiative.

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Director General of Health Services on Tuesday (11) confirmed 23 deaths that occurred from 05th to 11th May, due to Covid-19 virus infection. Accordingly, the total number of deaths due to Covid-19 infection in Sri Lanka is 850.
1. The deceased is an 84 year old female resident in Rathmalana. She died on 08.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in a private Hospital in Colombo. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia.
2. The deceased is a 61 year old male resident in Polonnaruwa. He died on 11.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in Welikanda Treatment Centre. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia.
