MADISONVILLE, Ky. (WFIE) - People gathered in the Muhlenberg County Airport Monday to hear airport, city and college officials announce the new aviation program.
Officials said weâre facing a worldwide shortage of pilots. They hope this program will bring growth to the area.
âWith aviation being one of Kentuckyâs number one export industries, we need to have it here in Western Kentucky,â said Rep. Melinda Gibbons-Prunty, Kentucky House of Representatives, 15th District. âThey can get the education and training here at home then go out and get a good paying job.â
