Missing daughter that vanished from outside of her home in santa cruz. Were looking for maddie middleton. Were live where the search for Madison Middleton continues tonight. Reporter resolve is growing that she will be found safe. A new group of volunteer searchers is getting ready to hit the streets in santa cruz this evening to lend fresh eyes and ears to what effort. The patrol issued an all points bulletin. The search effort has been challenging because of the terrain from the mountains. So there is a huge spread of area that needs to be searched and can be searched from the levy down to the beach and from Railroad Tracks up towards the area and such. Reporter motivation comes from deep inside. It hits everyones heart. Shes innocent. Everyone wants her to come home safely. We hope she will. Reporter professional search and rescue teams scoured the area, air searches were done as well. But the level of despair is growing among family and friends. Were feeling helpless at this point.
The little girl lived and last seen yesterday riding her scooter. Neighbors say the boy was taken away in handcuffs without incident. He was supposedly very calm. His friends and family however were hysterical. Screaming. And crying and complete shock that he was taken that custody. Police quickly cordeny off section of the property. Neighbors tell us they were told that police were taping off the area because they found some evidence but what exactly they found has not yet been officially confirmed of zeros going up an down the stairs of the complex presumably in and out of the apartment where the boy lives. Neighbors are stunned by the development. They say the 15yearold boy is plight. Well spoken young man. Hes lived here at the tan ri for at least 5 years. And the fact that hes now in Police Custody had people here just speechless. We are waiting for update from Santa Cruz Police. Obviously very busy with the crime scene here so not sure when that update will come but ill be updati
The complex located behind me. Reporter Santa Cruz Police chief kevin fogel says the body is 8yearold mad i middleton last seen riding her scooter in the parking lot of the art center where she lived with her mother. Under arrest in connection with her death a 15yearold resident of the complex. Neighbors were in complete shock when they saw him taken into custody. His mother in tars screaming. We have people in the complex who saw the individual. As far as what they actually saw him do, i dont know. But we do have people that well be in. Reporter police said dumpster is in the grand jury of the apartment complex. They say it will take hours from says the crime scene. How she was killed is unknown at this point. Neighbors screen the 15yearold suspect as a nice boy. From what i know very well spoken. And very kind manner. So like i said its shocking. Situation all together.
