OMAHA, Neb. Texas used a powerful all-around performance to post a surprising three-set sweep of top-seeded and previously unbeaten Wisconsin in the NCAA women s volleyball semifinals Thursday night.
No. 4 Texas (27-1) will play No. 2 Kentucky (23-1) in the championship match Saturday. The Wildcats advanced to their first final with a four-set victory over Washington in the other semifinal.

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) â Madison Lilley was in seventh grade when she started going to the Kentucky volleyball camp. She was a high school freshman when she accepted coach Craig Skinner s scholarship offer.
Eight years later, she s the first player from the Southeastern Conference to be named national player of the year and her team is set to play in the NCAA championship match for the first time.
âIt s a long time coming, to say the very least,â the senior setter from Overland Park, Kansas, said Friday. âThink about when I started coming to camp and when I committed and now I m here. I m 22 and in my last season here at Kentucky after making history. This is everything I planned to do.â

After coming back to win the third set against the Washington Huskies, Kentucky never looked back en route to closing out the match 3-1 Thursday night. The Wildcats were certainly challenged early on, but grinned past adversity and found the momentum they needed to get over the hump.
With AVCA Coach of the Year Craig Skinner and AVCA Player of the Year Madison Lilley leading the way, Kentucky has mostly ran through this year’s tournament.
Now, they stand just one more win away from hoisting the national championship trophy.

UK won sets one, three and four to take the match at the CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska on Thursday behind four players who were in double-figure kills, 63 assists from AVCA National Player of the Year, Madison Lilley, and 17 digs from senior libero, Gabby Curry.
Avery Skinner led all players in the match with 19 kills in the match on 46 swings, as she hit .286 against the PAC-12 champion Huskies. Madi Skinner, Azhani Tealer and Alli Stumler all had 13 kills for the Wildcats with Tealer only needing 26 swings to get her 19 kills as she led the match with a .385 hitting percentage.
