Prescriptions filled and i was counting on getting my flu shot, and theyre out of flu shots. Of the 135 million doses manufactured this year, at least 112 million have already been ministered. Health experts say if you can get the shot, it will take two weeks for protection to kick in. Its still not too late to get your flu shot. What it does is makes the illness milder. The declaration allows pharmacists to vaccinate children between the ages of 6 months and 18 years. New york is one of 30 states to report flurelated deaths this season. At least 20 children have died. The flu is easy to spread. The germ can be anywhere, on gas pumps, atms, and, of course, door handles. And the obvious way to avoid getting the flu, steering clear of those who are exhibiting symptoms.
