Roxana sex charges upgraded to felony

EDWARDSVILLE Misdemeanor charges of sexual exploitation of a child against a Roxana man originally filed in July have been upgraded to felony.
The new charges against Adam D. Baumgartner, 38, were filed Jan. 7. The case was originally presented by the Roxana Police Department.
On July 17, Baumgartner was charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a child, and harmful material, all Class A misdemeanors.
On Jan. 7 the sexual exploitation of a child charges were upgraded to Class 4 felonies. The original charges were dismissed, according to workers with the Madison County Circuit Clerk’s Office, who confirmed that with the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office.
