The university had requested an emergency order from the Supreme Court to stop the state court decision that ruled the university has to accommodate the YU Pride Alliance, a student group on campus, due to New York City’s anti-discrimination law.
At a Friday press briefing, Senior Deputy Commissioner Jim Baldwin said schools in violation of substantial equivalency will be in jeopardy of losing state funding.
