TOP NEWS: boohoo Probes Pakistan Suppliers Over Underpaid Staff Wed, 23rd Dec 2020 14:43 (Alliance News) - British online fashion group boohoo Group PLC on Wednesday said it was investigating a Guardian newspaper report that its suppliers were underpaying workers in Pakistan, after facing a similar scandal in the UK. boohoo shares were 3.1% higher at 321.76 pence each in London on Wednesday afternoon. The Guardian newspaper reported that workers at two factories in the city of Faisalabad making clothes for boohoo were earning PKR10,000, or GBP47, a month. It said the monthly minimum for such work was PKR17,500. The British daily added that it had video and photographic evidence of possible safety issues in the workplace.
