Former Sen. Kelly Loeffler gave a succinct, maskless message to the University of Georgia College Republicans on Wednesday night: The Republican Party needs diversity.
Loeffler said diversity referred to welcoming not only people of color into the conservative fold, but also those with perspectives that differ from mainstream conservatism.
âI think what we have to make sure that we do is welcome more people in the conservative movement. We will have no chance if we don t grow,â Loeffler said.
Retaining Republican control of Georgia is a top priority for Loefflerâs voter registration group, Greater Georgia. Loeffler launched Greater Georgia in response to Stacey Abramsâ Fair Fight organization and other voter registration groups in Georgia.

On Wednesday, President Donald Trump became the first president of the U.S. to be impeached twice. The House of Representatives voted 232 to 197 on an article of impeachment that accused President Trump of âincitement of insurrection.â The trial will move forward to the Senate.
The impeachment follows the insurrection on the steps of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, where mobs of domestic terrorists overtook the building shortly after a joint session of Congress met to confirm the presidential victory of President-elect Joe Biden.Â
Alex English, president of the University of Georgiaâs chapter of the NAACP, described the need for Trumpâs impeachment as a âno brainer.âÂ
