A vigil was held here on 9 11 to honor all of them. I am looking at 11 years that he has been gone and it seems like yesterday. Sergeant Michael Kelly decided to join the National Guard right after 9 11. He was in afghanistan for 69 days and was killed in an attack. Reporter he was just 26 years old. As far as memorial day and all that sort of thing goes, every day is memorial for us. There is not a day that we dont think about him and what he stood for. In our eyes, we are proud of him. He is a hero. Reporter Sergeant Kelly was the third oldest of four. He was the funniest guy. He was great. He had the best sense of humor. Reporter the kellys are now a gold star family, honored for their loved ones sacrifice. They joined dozens in the sacrifice. Two huge trees have fallen on this street, the latest coming crashing down today. Badly damaging her van. He has a she has a that affects her spine and she really needs the vehicle. Ant sath another tree fell on the vehicles and the first one was practically totaled. Thats right, another car came down on her brothers car totaling the roof. Just crashed the roof. The family and neighbors said they have been calling the city expressing concern about the trees for weeks, worried that more might fall and thats today, but the mendezes are filing a claim with the city for damage to their vehicles. We really want the city to hook up the remaining trees because this is dangerous. People can die.
