Morning Glory Brunch Frog Race
St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center
Cost: $50 - $500
St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center (SMSC) will host its signature Morning Glory Brunch Frog Race virtually for the event’s 20th anniversary. The community is encouraged to participate in the Frog Race by purchasing rubber frogs to be entered in the race. Volunteer “Frogettes” will splash from the end of the pool deck, without touching the frogs, to assist the frogs in reaching the finish line. Winners of the Frog Race will be announced during a live streaming event, and all proceeds from purchased frogs will benefit SMSC’s Garden and Aquatic Programs.

Students at 10 community college campuses wonât have to worry where their next meal is coming from thanks to generous donors whose contributions to the annual Pack the Pantry food drive will fund more than 90,000 meals. This yearâs drive, organized by California Coast Credit Union, the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank, and the San Diego and Imperial Counties Community College Association, raised a record amount despite running entirely online.
âFood insecurity can have severe consequences for students,â said Dr. Pamela Luster, president of San Diego Mesa College. âIt often results in students being late or missing classes, or having to drop out altogether. Thanks to Pack the Pantry, weâll be able to keep our food pantries stocked, allowing students to focus on their education.â
