For the fourth consecutive World Cup event, the athletes of USA Luge stood on the podium. Chevonne Forgan and Sophie Kirkby won the bronze in the women’s doubles competition at the home of the 1964 and 1976 Olympic Winter Games.
The U.S. women’s singles team was led by Park City s Ashley Farquharson, who placed sixth, while Emily Sweeney finished the day in eighth place after coming back from a challenging first run.
Germany's Julia Taubitz successfully defended her overall women's
singles title in the Luge World Cup despite failing to win a medal at
the concluding event in Winterberg.
Germany's Max Langenhan made it back-to-back wins on the International
Luge Federation World Cup at his home event in Altenberg, and Austria
concluded the competition with victory in the team relay.
The 2023 International Luge Federation Luge World Championships are
set to get underway tomorrow in Oberhof, with it set to be the first
time the women's doubles and women's doubles sprint categories are to
be part of the programme.
