HURON – Castlewood remained unbeaten and White River won a thriller in semifinal games Friday at the SDHSAA Girls B State Tournament at Huron Arena.
Castlewood 55, Ethan 41
Castlewood had four players in double figures to remain unbeaten at 22-0 and hold off Ethan. Darah DeKam scored 14 for the Warriors, with MacKenzie Everson scoring 12, Maddie Horn 11 and Alayna Benike 11.
On Saturday, Castlewood will try for its fourth state championship and second in four years.
White River 52, Corsica-Stickney 50
Maleighya Estes hit a shot in the lane with just under three seconds left for the winning bucket for White River (23-1). Estes scored 14 with 12 rebounds. Caelyn Valandra-Prue scored 20 to move into eighth on the all-time South Dakota girls scoring list with 2,513 points.
