The site is only accepting walk-ups on Wednesday and Thursday, and only at the Windham location. "I think that's the group that is for whom convenience is the premium. These unscheduled hours is where I'm hoping to offer a service," said Dr. Nirav Shah, director of the Maine CDC during Tuesday's media.

For some Mainers, especially elderly residents of rural communities, getting to a location where they can get a COVID-19 vaccination could prove very challenging. And if they receive a Moderna or Pfizer vaccine, that would mean making the trip to a health facility or mass vaccination clinic twice. That s a lot of traveling for people who may no longer drive, or who would find the journey too taxing. So the Mills Administration has announced a mobile vaccination unit that will bring the shots to them. Over the next two months, the vaccination clinic will travel to 10 communities, including Oxford, Fryeburg, Calais, Madawaska, and others:
