Track teams participate at Lawrenceburg, South Dearborn Invites   The Switzerland County girls and boys varsity track teams participated in two big invitationals last week. Lawrenceburg   Last Tuesday night the Pacers traveled to Lawrenceburg for the Tiger Relays, and the girls team placed second overall while the boys earned third place.   For the girls:   • Gracie White earned first place in the 1,600-meter run; and she also won the 400-meter dash. White also was a part of the 1,600-meter relay team that finished first; and the 3,200-meter relay team that finished second.   • Raylinn Kappes won the 200-meter dash; and finished second in the 100-meter dash. She was a member of the 400-meter relay team that won its event; and the winning 1,600-meter relay team.

third at JCD Invite   The Switzerland County High School boys and girls track teams participated in a invitational at Jac-Cen-Del on Thursday, April 15th.   The Lady Pacers earned second place overall; while the boys team earned third place in their meet.   In the girls meet:   • Raylinn Kappes earned first place in the 100-meter dash with a personal record time and also won the 200-meter dash.   • Alisha Detmer won the 1,600-meter run; finished second in the 800-meter run; and was fourth in the long jump.   • Gracie White won the 400-meter dash and the 800-meter dash.   • The 400-meter relay team of Kappes, Megan Wetzel, Brooklyn Flanders, and Carly Bennett won their race.

At Southwestern   On Tuesday night, April 6th, the Pacers traveled to Southwestern, with the girls earning first place overall and the boys coming in fourth.   In the girls meet, the Lady Pacers won every running event except two on their way to a dominant evening:   • The 3,200-meter relay team of Brooklyn Flanders, Macy Collier, Cheyenne Wick, and Gracie White won the event.   • Carly Bennett won the 100-meter hurdles and fourth in the long jump.   • Raylinn Kappes won the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash.

Maddie Duvall s five three-pointers fuels Lady Pacer win over South Decatur

- Advertisement - The Switzerland County Lady Pacers hit the road for an afternoon tilt on Saturday, January 23rd and returned home with a big 59-45 win over South Decatur.   The Lady Pacers opened the contest on a huge offensive run, scoring 21 points in the opening eight minutes while holding their hosts to just 11. That 10-point margin would hold up throughout the remainder of the contest.   In the first, Maddie Duvall had the hot hand, accounting for 11 points on three three-pointers and a field goal.   Keirstan Oeffinger had five points on a three-pointer and field goal; Jayden Thomas drilled a trey for three points; and Nora Hankins had a field goal for two points.

Big third quarter pushes Lady Pacers to win   Last Thursday night, January 14th, the Switzerland County Lady Pacers earned a big conference win over Southwestern by a score of 40-38.   As the final score indicated, it was a closely fought game for all four quarters, with the Lady Pacers using a big third quarter to take control before fending off a fourth quarter charge by the Lady Rebels to earn the victory. The Switzerland County charge was depleted a bit as the Lady Pacers played the game without senior Keirstan Oeffinger, but a team effort made up for her absence overall.
