Today, the World Surf League (WSL) announces a global partnership with industry leader Oakley®. As a longtime supporter of surfing and leading brand for eyewear for surfers across the globe, Oakley will now officially take its place at the sport’s pinnacle of competition. Having previously sponsored a number of WSL events, this partnership will also support the global surfing community as the official eyewear of the WSL.

Tropical cyclone season in a La Niña year can be a total tease. Anticipation builds for weeks, if not months. Old guys tell you crusty yet epic stories of that 28 day swell in 1975. The weather maps look good, and then they don’t.
Then at some point, things start popping.
That’s just what happened during the first week of February, when two tropical cyclones popped in quick succession, and loaded up several days of magic along Australia’s best known super-points.
Hotel Quarantine For Australian Tour Surfers
Think they have room service here? elsewhere // Jan 14, 2021

With the Hawaiian leg of the rejigged 2021 World Tour coming to a premature end, most of Australia’s tour talent has returned home and begun their two-week stay in the hotel quarantine.
Julian Wilson is shacked up with filmer Jimmy Lees. Wade Carmichael is quarantining with filmer, Jess Little. Connor O’Leary is flying solo, though with the added luxury of an exercise bike arranged by Surfing Australia head coach Bede Durbidge.
Macy Callaghan and her partner/pro surfer, Sheldon Simkus, are sharing a room. So too, Bronte Macaulay and her father, former West Oz pro, Dave Macaulay. The pair have been passing the time with an inventive interpretation of indoor tennis across their beds.
