Markets likely to witness lacklustre trade; eyes RBI’s monetary policy

Stocks to watch out for today: Barbeque-Nation, RIL, Cholamandalam Investment, Axis Bank, M&M and Concord Drugs Markets are likely to witness another lacklustre trading on Wednesday, even as the Reserve Bank will unveil its monetary policy in the afternoon. However, global stocks continue to unsupportive of bulls, with the US and some Asian markets being listless.
SGX Nifty at 14,760 (8 am IST) indicates a flat opening, as Nifty futures on Tuesday closed at 14,750. While Dow Jones, Nasdaq and S&P 500 closed marginally lower overnight, Asian markets such as Japan s Nikkei, China s Shanghai, Australia s ASX and Korea s Kospi were little changed in the morning.
Macrotech Developers raises 740 Cr from 14 Anchor Investors

Affordable and Mid Income Housing focused Macrotech Developers Limited also known as Lodha Developers has raised Rs. 740 crore from 14 anchor investors. The company informed the bourses that it has allocated 1.52 Cr shares at Rs. 486 per share on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 to anchor investors.
12 Foreign Portfolio Investors who participated in the anchor were Capital Group; Nomura; Ivanhoe Cambridge, real estate arm of CDPQ; Wellington Asset Management,; Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, Abu Dhabi s sovereign fund; Platinum Asset Management, Marshall Wace, Brookfield Asset Management, Segantii, York, Oxbow and Discovery. These investors were allocated approximately 1.45 Cr. shares for approximately Rs 705 Cr.

The short and truncated week gone by had a mere three trading days but was highly volatile. Each of the three days saw the benchmark indices move by more than 1 per cent with Tuesday, which was the first day of the week seeing a movement in excess of 2 per cent. Markets gained on two of the three days. BSESENSEX gained 1,021.33 points or 2.08 per cent to close at 50,029.83 points, while NIFTY gained 360.05 points or 2.48 per cent to close at 14,867.35 points. The broader indices saw BSE100, BSE200 and BSE500 gained 2.42 per cent, 2.62 per cent and 2.70 per cent respectively. BSEMIDCAP was up 2.73 per cent, while BSESMALLCAP was up 3.91 per cent. Macrotech Developers Limited (erstwhile Lodha Developers Limited), a Mumbai based real estate developer will open the bid/offer period in relation to its initial public offering of Equity Shares (the Issue / IPO ) on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 and close on Friday, April 9, 2021.

Lodha Developers, India’s one of largest real-estate companies that has now been rechristened as Macrotech Developers, has made an application to market regulator SEBI seeking permission to drop Abhinandan Lodha from the promoter group. Abhinandan is the younger sibling of Abhishek Lodha, MD of Macrotech and eldest son of Mangal Prabhat Lodha, the founder promoter of Lodha Group.
