An historic season for the Resurrection Christian girls basketball team ended Friday evening at the Denver Coliseum, but not before the Cougars gave defending Class 4A state champion Holy Family all it could handle.
The only blemish on the Resurrection Christian girls basketball team's record in January was a 27-point loss to University in Greeley.
Thursday night in their home gym, the Cougars used a big second quarter and some stellar defense down the stretch to avenge that loss.
Resurrection Christian forced turnovers and got out and ran en route to a 60-52 win against University in a Thursday night matchup pitting two of the top girls basketball teams in Class 4A.
The Resurrection Christian boys basketball team doesn't lose at home very often. In fact, the Cougars haven't suffered a loss in their home gym since the 2021-22 season.
Against one of their biggest rivals Thursday night, the Cougars weren't about to let that streak come to an end.
