University of Nevada, Reno students are looking for a lot more good luck on finals this year, if you are counting the number of empty booze bottles.
UNR said there was likely a record number of empty containers of liquor, beer, wine and White Claw left overnight at the John Mackay statue on the north side of the campus Quad. The tradition of leaving empties for good luck during finals started in 2007 and has since become an annual tradition.
And this year it came after a college year unlike any other as many students are doing most of their coursework remotely amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
