Power restored across Mackay after Callide explosions

Premium Content Subscriber only UPDATE, 4.20PM: Power supplies across the Mackay region have been restored after reports of explosions at the Callide station caused widespread outages. More than 2900 customers from Mackay to Eungella and south to the Sarina area were this afternoon without power as a result of the explosion about 1.45pm. More than 375,000 customers across the state lost power as a result of the incident. Ergon and Energex deployed several crews with urgency to restore power supplies. Ergon has reported supplies across Mackay have mostly been restored by 4.10pm, with about 650 customers still out by 4.30pm. That included 499 customers in Glenden.

Power restored to 1000 Slade Point homes, but outages remain

Premium Content Subscriber only UPDATE 11.15AM: Power has been restored to 1000 Slade Point residents who were left without power early on Sunday morning.  Ergon Energy crews were called to Slade Point at 7.47am to begin emergency maintenance of the electricity network.  Power was restored at about 11am.  Outages at Beaconsfield and Kuttabul are still ongoing.  10:15AM: More than 1000 Slade Point residents are without power following more heavy rain overnight.
