One year after discovering zebra mussels at Highline Lake State Park, Colorado Parks and Wildlife staff found additional zebra mussels on Sunday, Oct. 1 during routine work to remove buoys
The lake was drained, the staff was doubled, diligence was put on high alert, and there were high hopes that the infestation of mussels would be eradicated.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife is hoping that further lowering Highline Lake and making use of a chemical treatment there in coming months can eradicate the population of invasive zebra mussels
