Motorweek Presents 2021 Drivers Choice Awards +VIDEO
Drivers’ Choice Awards
Each year John and the Motorweek team rolls out the red carpet for the annual Drivers Choice Awards. These are the cars and trucks many of us would like to have parked in our driveway, or at least dream about owning. The team looks at the factors mattering most to consumers - price, practicality, performance and fuel efficiency. Then the editorial staff selects the best models in a variety of lifestyle categories ranging from family sedan to luxury car, to large utilities and pickups. From that group, an overall best of the year is chosen.
Fuel economy
The Mustang Mach-E has not yet been rated for efficiency by the EPA, so we donât have official MPGe numbers.
The rear-drive, standard-range Mustang Mach E uses a rear-mounted electric motor with 266 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque and offers 230 miles of range from a 68-kWh battery pack before charging. When all-wheel drive is added, thereâs a front axle electric motor too, for a massive 428 lb-ft of total torque. But on that model, range drops to 211 miles.
The extended-range models have a large 88 kWh battery pack and provide an excellent 300 miles of range in rear-drive with 290 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque. That puts the Mach-E in some good company when it comes to driving range.
