According to new reports, Apple is already developing a successor to the new M1 Ultra. Currently referred to simply as the M2 Ultra, the SoC could offer even more CPU cores than the M1 Ultra. Contrary to previous reports, the MacBook Air may launch with the Apple M2, while the next MacBook Pro 13 may get a new name.
The expected M2 MacBook Pro will have to cut some corners compared to the recently released Apple MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16 according to a noted observer. While the potential MacBook Pro 2022 will be treated to new Apple Silicon, it will have to lose out in features and specs to become an entry-level unit.
