Welcome to bbc news. Authorities in pakistan say at 80 people are now confirmed to have died when a passenger plane crashed into a residential area in karachi. The airbus a320 was enroute from lahore in the north of the country when it came down near the runway at least two passengers survived. Secunder kermani reports. These are the moments just before the plane crashed to the ground. At the site, panic and chaos. This residential area is just a short distance away from the airport. Rescue workers combed through the debris, looking for surviving passengers and injured locals.
