City of Houston It seems like a long time, but it s really only been a month since we started getting weekly shipments, said Porfirio Villareal, spokesperson, Houston Health Department.
He adds those needing their second dose will get a call within two days of when they re due for their next shot.

We’ve seen the images of long lines, heard the stories of people who are frustrated with trying to schedule an appointment for the vaccine, and even those who tried to cheat the system to get ahead of the line to try to get their dose. But there are some who aren’t willing to go through all the hassle to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas Officials at Harris County Public Health said Wednesday they added call takers and fixed issues that caused their online portal for the COVID-19 vaccine waitlist to go down shortly after launch.
Mac McClendon, Director of Harris County Public Health’s Office of Public Health Preparedness and Response, blamed a programming glitch for taking down the portal for several hours Tuesday.

Officials at Harris County Public Health said Wednesday they added call takers and fixed issues that caused their online portal for the COVID-19 vaccine waitlist to go down shortly after launch.
Mac McClendon, Director of Harris County Public Health’s Office of Public Health Preparedness and Response, blamed a programming glitch for taking down the portal for several hours Tuesday.
“We were using architecture from a previous tool, and it was combined into the new tool,” McClendon said. “We realized that there was a glitch in that particular architecture.”
Harris County Public Health, which is one of three state-designated vaccine hubs in Harris County, is preparing to administer its latest shipment of 9,000 vaccines this coming week.
