Authorities seize 200 kilos of fireworks from back of Cozumel pickup

Cozumel, Q.R. Civil Protection personnel of Cozumel seized approximately 200 kilos of fireworks from a private vehicle Thursday. Authorities took the bags of fireworks after the driver of the pickup was found in noncompliance.
Civil Protection seized the items after a traffic stop by island police. The Director of Civil Protection, Héctor Mac Marín, reported that Cozumel police stopped a locally plated vehicle that was traveling in the Emiliano Zapata neighborhood. In the bed of the truck, police located nearly 200 kilos of fireworks meant for retail.
