GEORGE TOWN: The mother of T. Nhaveen, who was allegedly killed four years ago following a brutal assault, insisted in a High Court here that her son was never involved in gangsterism.
D. Shanti, 47, told the court that she was close to Nhaveen, was constantly aware of his whereabouts and did not agree that he had links to the notorious Gang 04, which has been implicated in criminal cases such as murder, robbery and drugs.
When shown a series of photos by defence lawyer Datuk Ranjit Singh Dhillon during cross-examination, Shanti admitted that a teenager in the photos was her son Nhaveen, but was not aware of a hand signal he was showing.
