Indonesian scholars arrive at KU

Indonesian scholars arrive at KU Karachi April 11, 2021 A group of Indonesian university’s scholars have arrived at the International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi (KU), to pursue a research training programme. According to a spokesman for the ICCBS, four Indonesian scholars from the University of Airlangga visited the KU centre where they would stay for a period of three months under the ICCBS scholarship programme for Indonesian young scientists. The foreign scholars will receive training in different fields of chemistry, including synthetic and analytical chemistry. ICCBS Director Prof Dr M Iqbal Choudhary welcomed the foreign scholars and said the joint venture would promote science and technology between the two brotherly countries.

Biodiversity dropping  at an alarming pace

Biodiversity was dropping everywhere at an alarming pace ISLAMABAD: COMSTECH on Friday organised an international conference on biodiversity to share information regarding the preparation for the 15th meeting of the parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) to be held in Kunming, China this year. COMSTECH Coordinator-General Prof M Iqbal Choudhary, while presenting the welcome address, said this event was focused on bringing various stakeholders on board in the OIC region for a unified view at the international biodiversity conference. Prof Choudhary said the lives of our evolutionary siblings depended on conserving biodiversity. He emphasised the need to respect all creations of Almighty Allah so they could live and prosper.

Prof. Dr. M. During his welcome address, he shared the ongoing and upcoming capacity building activities and programmes of Comstech. QAU Vice Chancellor Prof. Muhammad Ali Shah was invited as the chief guest, and Prof. Muhammad Shahid Baig, chairman, Pakistan Science Foundation as the guest of honor. The event was moderated by Prof. Dr. MonaLisa from Quaid-i-Azam, University.
