Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma called on Assamese people to take control of the state’s farming lands and said that Assam must become self-reliant for its food products to become a developed state.
While addressing the note on Independence, the CM further added that these minimalist approaches would give greater strength to the society as a whole.

Tinsukia (Assam) [India], May 14 (ANI): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the site of the blast at the Tingrai Market in Digboi on Saturday and asked the police to speed up investigations.
He said, This morning I visited Tingrai Market in Digboi to inspect the site of the blast on May 14. Have instructed Assam Police to ensure expeditious investigations and arrest of perpetrators .
