COTABATO CITY - The Department of Social Welfare and Development in the Soccsksargen Region (DSWD-12) has distributed financial aid to 49 cooperatives belonging to the Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs), an official said Wednesday. "This is 390 percent higher compared to the same period last year," Dr. Eva Rabaya, North Cotabato's Integrated Provincial Health Office chief, said Tuesday. Rabaya said North Cotabato's lone city and 17 municipalities have listed only 229 cases in 2021. Eight dengue patients have died so far this year, she said. The patients were from Kidapawan City, and the towns of President Roxas, M'lang, Alamada and Magpet. "In 2021, only one patient had died," she said. Police identified the fatalities as Councilor Musa Bago, 59, of Datu Piang, Maguindanao; and his brother Panday Bago, 48, both of Datu Piang town. They were on board a Toyota Hi-lux heading toward M'lang town proper when it accidentally collided with a Toyota sedan and another vehicle. In an interview, Lt. Realan Manon, town police chief, said the SITG is composed of investigators from the police provincial office, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group - North Cotabato, the Scene of the Crime Operatives, and the local police.
