CEMEX USA has announced that it has reached a milestone in its efforts to support the fight against COVID-19, delivering grants this year from its philanthropic arm, the CEMEX Foundation, to more than 80 non-profit organisations nationwide to help provide food, shelter, safety and education in communities deeply affected by the pandemic.
As the coronavirus began to spread across the US in March 2020, CEMEX USA employees sought opportunities to help by identifying non-profit organisations providing critical relief inside CEMEX’s operational footprint and proposing grant requests to the CEMEX Foundation. The grants delivered by CEMEX USA employees have provided more than a quarter of a million meals to those facing food insecurity and overall have positively impacted more than 200 000 people across California, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, Texas, Alabama, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Georgia and Florida.
