Silver springs. According to lyon county sheriff al mcneil. One of those injured was a lyon county deputy. He was shot in the hand. The injury is non life threatening. The sheriff tells us the incident started as a report of a stolen vehicle in sparks around 9 30 last night. A short time later around 10 p. M. The sheriff says a lyon county deputy spotted the stolen vehicle. A red chevy cruze. In the parking lot of the Silver Springs nugget. As the officer approached the vehicle. Someone in the car shot at him. At which time the officer returned fire. Sheriff mcneil says that suspect was killed. A second person in the vehicle was also shot. They were flown to the hospital. The extent of their injuries is not known. The deputy involved in the shooting was also taken to a hospital for the injury to his hand. Two other people ran from scene but were later arrested. Thieves pulled up next to the freeway late monday night. Cut open the fence and threw a rock through the window. Nats they put that down to step on it and get into the window. There.
