Castile soap is a vegetable-based soap that you can get in bar or liquid form. The name comes from the Castile region of Spain where it originated and was traditionally made from olive oil. Today it can be made from any oils from coconut, castor, hemp, avocado, or almond oils with added essential oils for scent. Limescale is a hard and chalky deposit that builds up on surfaces where hard water has evaporated. If you live in a hard water area, your bath and shower are bound to be covered in the stuff. Kitchen bins are always smelly if used to dispose of food and other nasties.
The problem isn’t solved when you take out the bins, odours linger on the surface of the bin.
Spray the inside of the empty bin with white vinegar and wipe down with a damp cloth.
Paint brushes
If painting is your new hobby in lockdown or you’re doing some DIY, you will have plenty of dirty paint brushes lying around.
Swirl the brushes in a bowl of warm white vinegar and watch the paint fall off after about 30 minutes.
Make sure you rinse well with clean water after and let the brushes dry naturally.
