Rich Polk/NBCBET's introducing a new documentary that will celebrate "Black cultural icons, pioneers, and activists and their impact, influence and legacies in fashion, music, film, and dance." Black + Iconic brings light to Black cultural innovators and the achievements of Black people across the aforementioned fields. The documentary will air in four parts. The inaugural film, Black + Iconic: Style Gods, was directed by Lynne Robinson and will feature executive producer Billy Porter as the narrator and host. Per a press release, the two-hour film "explores the myriad of ways Black people have overcome racism" in the fashion industry via archival footage and original interviews with legendary Black fashion designers, style icons and models.
