PROVIDENCE After a year of canceled events, closed businesses and staying home, here s some good news: a brand-new event that boosts small businesses and is an invitation to get out of the house.
The first May Day Market will take place May 1 and 2 at the WaterFire Arts Center, and both parking and admission are free.
It will be a celebration of fine arts and crafts, food, flowers, plants and accessories for homes, gardens and personal wear, says producer Karla Little of KL Communications.
Little is also the producer of the annual Fine Furnishings Show with the 26th annual event set for Nov. 5-7 but the May market will have a different vibe.
