The $46.4 million hangar will be designed for the Regionalized Isochronal Inspection program, which requires every piece of every C-5 jet in the Air Force fleet to be inspected every 14 months. Since 2006, Westover has been one of just two bases that conduct the inspections.
After almost a year of remote learning, some Chicopee students start in-person classes Monday

CHICOPEE City students, many of whom have not been in a school in nearly a year, will return to some in-person learning Monday under a system that will mix classes at schools with remote lessons.
The School Committee voted last week to change to a hybrid model after the idea was recommended by a task force of educators, parents and students and then sent to a separate implementation committee of administrators, School Committee members and the executive committee of the Chicopee Education Association.
Although some educators aired concerns about returning to the classroom before vaccines are widely available, this week the members of the Chicopee Education Association approved the change with 79% who cast ballots voting in favor. The decision allows the change to take place at the start of the second half of the school year, Superintendent Lynn A. Clark said.

Police suspended their search for 11-year-old Aiden Blanchard late Saturday, and asked residnets in the Old Field neighborhood of Willimansett to review home surveillence video to see if he passed their homes.

CHICOPEE The search for an 11-year-old who has been missing for six days continued on Thursday with a widespread aerial search of the Connecticut River.
Aiden Blanchard was last seen around 11:30 a.m. on Friday in the Willimansett neighborhood and is believed to have been heading to the area of the Medina Street Boat Launch at the Connecticut River. His family reported him missing later in the day.
