Slog PM: Brandi Kruse Is the New Jason Rantz, Covid Checks No Longer a Compossible, Russel Wilson Doing a Boeing on Seattle

by Charles Mudede • Mar 10, 2021 at 4:48 pm Seattle s Black Imagination is blowing up! Courtesy Natasha Marin What kind of time is not being wasted? The time it takes for Q13 s Brandi Kruse to point out the direction from which people with good common sense should attack Nikkita Oliver, who today announced their run for a citywide Seattle City Council seat that will be left empty by Council President Lorena Gonzalez’s departure. And where does Kruse want Seattle conservatives to aim their attacks in this battle? On Oliver s “extreme” position on police funding. Can you even imagine a society without police officers? That s just plain nuts. Cuckoo. Seattle progressives have lost contact with reality. That kind of rubbish. And it is total rubbish to me, a lefty who sees deep defunding as the second-best option to the present crisis of American policing at the top of my list is deep decriminalizing. But don t get me wrong. Oliver

Springville passes ordinance prohibiting big trucks on roadway near interstate

By Terry Schrimscher SPRINGVILLE The Springville City Council held a special session to pass an ordinance during the Monday, Dec. 14, 2020 work session to limit certain traffic on Purple Heart Boulevard, the roadway off Highway 174, near the BP station at Interstate 59. The ordinance, requested by council member Herbert Toles, was in response to a recent influx of dangerous traffic flowing into nearby neighborhoods. “Big trucks have been coming through and getting up on the sidewalks and tearing down signs,” said Toles. “It’s a mess.” Councilman Toles represents District 1 which includes the neighborhood most affected by the large trucks. The new ordinance was prompted by the recent increase in traffic through the neighborhood and recent incidences where large trucks have gotten onto the narrow roads and have been unable to turn around. One recent event required considerable city resources to remedy.
