A $400,000 grant has been awarded to the city of Joplin by the Federal Transit Administration to study ways to expand local public transportation services.

JOPLIN, Mo. – The City of Joplin launches an investigation into its computer systems issues with the help of a cybersecurity firm.
According to Joplin’s Public Information Officer Lynn Onstot, they’re investigating if online payment information was affected.
The City released the following this afternoon.
The City of Joplin, MO understands the importance of maintaining the security of our computer systems. On July 7, 2021, we discovered a network security incident that resulted in an interruption to our internet, email, and phone services. We immediately isolated the impacted systems, contacted law enforcement, and launched an investigation with the assistance of a professional cybersecurity firm.
